With kids, pets, guests and your own use of the home, unique stains often times suddenly appear on a carpet, usually from either food or drink stains, or bringing something in on the soles of people’s shoes. The sooner you find them, the better chance you have of lifting the stain up. Use an appropriate product to get those difficult stains up to keep your carpet looking good.
There are many factors in carpet stain removal which often times depends on the source of the stain and the type of carpet. We have found some general guidelines that may work for most stains. The tools required are a spray bottle of water and a small amount of dishwashing detergent along with another spray bottle with a vinegar and water mixture. You also need a rag and a shop vaccum.
First use the water and detergent mixture to spray down the stain area. Using a cloth rug, vigorously rub the stain out. Multiple applications may be necessary. After, use the water and vinegar mixture to spray down the area again. Use the shop vacuum to go over the area and suck the remaining moisture out of the stained area.
